His son was a brave boy. Holding aloft an axe he had with him, he charged at the tiger and would have dealt it a massive blow had not his father stopped him.
“Don’t hit it with an axe!” screamed the man. “It’ll damage its skin and then we won’t get a good price for it! Hit it with a blunt instrument!”

The tiger started to hurt the man which pained him a lot. A passer by saved him from the tiger by fighting it. The man then told him that he had done a great mistake by asking his son not to spoil its skin. If he had killed it he would have been safe. Both, the tiger and the boy died.
In the meantime, the tiger would have pounced on the greedy merchant if his son had not tied it up before hunting for a blunt tool. The tiger knew the man's foolishness and so it said - "hey man! if you untie me, i will help you in searching for the blunt tool. The greedy man at once agreed and was in the tiger's stomach in a minute!
The merchant tried his best to keep the tiger from sinking its teeth into the merchant's face. However the tiger bit hard into the merchant's wrist which started bleeding profusely. Though the merchant pressed the tigers's neck very hard with the other hand the tiger did not let go off the merchant's wrist. In the meantime, the merchant's son came running with a heavy log and hit the tiger hard on its head. The impact of the hit made the tiger lose balance and it quickly ran away. However the merchant's wrist was so badly damaged that doctors had to amputate it . The merchant's greed for the tiger's skin had cost him heavily and he realized that had if he had not stopped his son from axing the tiger at that crictical moment, he wouldn't have had to part with his hand which was one of the most important part of a person's body.

The tiger roared and said, "If you will dare to hit me I will make you lie just like your poor father. The boy cleverly asked for his safety and promised that he will never ever try to harm him(the tiger). The tiger let him go with his wounded father but before letting him go,the tiger said,"If your father had not been so greedy for money and would not have thought of killing me, he would also had been safely leaving this place like you." Saying this the tiger left and the son realised and told his father one thing that one's life is more precious than money.
The boy did not listen to his father and killed the tiger with the axe, and saved his life. From that moment, he stopped being greedy, as he had learnt his lesson.
The merchant then told his son to trap the tiger with a net. But his son knew what would happen to his father if he goes searching for the net. So he took the axe and hit the tiger and the tiger died. The merchant thanked his son for saving his life and he left his greedy ways.

I DO LIKE MONEY BUT I WILL NOT RISK MY LIFE FOR MONEY!!!!!! You should think that father and stop acting like the village idiot." The merchant stood there for a minute. "Village idiot, life or money, my relationship with my son or lose it over money?" The merchant thought. "SON! I am sorry I yelled at you and didn't listen to you. will you forgive me?" " Yes I will." They hugged and walked back to the village. (if it was a village).

When the merchant had come back with his son he saw the tiger had escaped. Suddenly from behind the tiger jumped up on top of the merchants son, and had ripped the poor foolish boy to death. So from that day onwards the merchant could not forgive himself for what he had done. Days passed and money no longer was on the merchant's mind only what was left was love and hate for greed had disappeared.
Then the tiger tried to kill the merchant. But the merchant shouted ,"Wait till I remove my gold chain and the rings!! Or my spirit will not profit by it!" The tiger was amused that anyone could be so greedy that he would not value his life. Then the tiger took him to a giant cave filled with treasures. The merchant took all of them and never had to bother about wealth again - for the treasures in the cave were never - ending! All his life, the merchant was contented.
The tiger was amused. He said, "I was a wealthy greedy merchant like you. When God saw me he changed me to a tiger for my greed. Then I begged for mercy. God then told me that if I found a greedy man like myself, I could turn back into human and that man a tiger. And now I've found you!" The tiger then changed the merchant to a tiger and the tiger changed back to a man. God said from above, "Same for you tiger!!"
The tiger killed the man.
The boy looked around for something that would shoo away the tiger. He found a stick. He lit it with fire. The scared tiger ran away. The boy told his father that nature is the true wealth of the world. The man was ashamed and looked for ways to stop poaching, hurting and hunting of tigers.
The merchant shouted at his son not to throw axe at the tiger. After a moment the tiger ate up the greedy merchant.
The boy tried to find something blunt but he did not get anything. He also lost his axe somewhere. Tiger roared very loudly and said," I will kill your father now." Boy said,"No please don't kill him, I will give you anything you want." Tiger said,"Ok I will leave your father, if you give me one plate dal rice." Boy said,"Ok I will bring and went to the hotel." After sometime he came back with one plate of dal rice and gave it to tiger. Boy said,"Now leave my father." Tiger said,"No. I also want mango pickle." Boy again went to hotel and brought pickle and gave it to the tiger. Tiger ate the dal rice along with pickle and left the old man and went away. Father and the Son went to their home.
