It was the first time that Sneha was alone at home. Her parents would never leave her alone even for some hours. But this had been an emergency. Her grandfather had suddenly taken ill and because of her school, Sneha couldn't leave with them.
Sneha's mother had been very worried while leaving as she had never left her alone, but Sneha assured her that she would be fine and anyways it was just for the night, as in the morning her aunt would reach from Pune.
Sneha spent the afternoon and evening playing on the computer and then finishing her home work. But with nightfall all her courage seemed to be disappearing. She thought first she would sleep with the light on but then she couldn't get sleep with the lights shining on her face, so she switched it off.
Sneha started getting frightened. While tossing and turning on the bed she happened to look towards the window and her mind started conjuring up all sorts of shapes in the darkness. She told herself it was just the tree outside and nothing else but yet she was scared.
It was then that she heard the noise in the hall. Sneha was alarmed. She thought of going and seeing what was making the noise but she couldn't get up from the bed. Finally she mustered up enough courage to go and investigate. She went into the hall and there was the noise once again. She quickly switched on the light and what she saw shocked her.
Then once again she heard the same sound. She went on the side where the sound was coming. The sound was coming from the window. She went near the window. It was the sound of wind & the rain. Later Sneha was afraid. She called on her father's cell. She told the matter. Her father told her they were on the way. Then her parents returned home MORAL: WE SHOULD BE BRAVE
Sneha saw a thief in the house. She went to the kitchen quietly and brought some chilly powder and threw at the robber. The robber became unconscious due to the pain. Sneha reported to the police quickly and got the thief arrested.
The room was a mess. Cushions fallen down, sofa covers on the ground. Even the newspaper was torn in bits. She wondered who could have made such a mess. And then she saw the culprit and began Laughing. It was the neighbour's cat. Sneha had forgotten to lock the window and the naughty cat had gained access to the room and created a mess.
Sneha saw a big lizard
She saw her aunt coming in. She had a set of keys with her. She came home that night itself. Seeing her aunt Sneha overcame her fear and welcomed her home. Till her mom came Sneha stayed with her aunt. She also became brave enough to manage her self alone if her aunt went out for shopping or somewhere else.
It was her aunt who had surprisingly come from Pune in the night. Since she couldn't come in the front door, she used the back door instead. She didn't want to make so much noise but had too much luggage!
When Sneha turned on the light guess what she saw a big black tom cat with green eyes gazing at her horribly. Sneha came out of the fear and fetched the cat a bowl of milk. The cat drank the milk and went away.
She had forgotten to shut down the computer. So there was a short circuit and the computer was damaged due to that.
Her friend Shyamala was standing near the door with her father. She knew that Sneha would be alone and she might be scared to spend the night at home all alone. She had come to stay with her for the night. When Sneha learned about that she was very happy. She thanked Shymala and her father for their kindness. Shymala's father also said a few words of encouragement to Sneha to get courage in such situations saying that God will always be there with good people. He wished them good night and walked away. Sneha and Shymala spent the night together and Sneha has now overcome getting scared whenever she is alone.
She saw a small cat and the idea struck in to her mind that the cat must have entered in the house in day time when she opened the door to see the visitor who rang the bell. Now she took a sigh of relief. The cat jumped from the table on to the side of the cupboard and Sneha cried loudly because the cat jumped to catch a big fat mouse and Sneha was frightened by the big mouse.
She saw a dark figure climbing into her parents bedroom with a ladder. Sneha realized that a thief had entered into her house. She quickly called the police. Sneha took the house keys and carefully went outside without making any noise. She kept the ladder down and locked the door. The robber was trapped inside. Soon, the police arrived and took the criminal away.

The cabinet in the hallway was open so gathering up all of her courage she went over to the cabinet looked inside...and there was nothing but towels and sheets. Sneha turned away from the linen closet and didn't bother to close it. Something grabbed her shoulder. She screamed at the top of her lungs but there was nobody there to save her. She hoped that it was her parents and that they got home early. But as she turned around her hopes were all lost. She saw nothing. "Maybe I was just imagining things," so Sneha shut the cabinet and headed back to her room. BAM! she hurd a loud abrupt noise, it was her door slamming shut. "Alright don't worry Sneha it was just the wind," she said to herself as she tried to calm herself down. She finally reached her door but couldn't get in, it was locked! Somebody was in the house!

It was a fluffy white kitten with large sparkling eyes. The noise was when the kitten and her small puppy Mia was playing madly about in the room. Sneha felt relieved and decided to take the kitten as her own. She named the kitten chubby because she was very chubby and nicknamed her chubs. She slept soundly on the big velvet couch with chubby and Mia snuggled close to her. Her mother and father found her sleeping on the couch and woke her up. She told them the story and they decided to chubby as well. After that her mom hired a nanny named Sweety, so with sweety looking after sneha, everything will be Ok.
She nervously tiptoed downstairs to investigate but, she couldnt find the courage to take the risk she thought to herself. Shall I go ? Shall I risk my life? Suddenly Sneha heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Sneha was scared and she turned off the lights and hid into her wardrobe, not even daring to breath. The intruder rapidly grabed Sneha's piggy bank and put it in his back pack. But he didnt take just the money he took Sneha's mother's dimond earrings which were very very valuable. A few frightening seconds later the robber sneeked out of the window and tried to escape. But he was unlucky as a police van that was on patrol immediately caught him.

When he let her go she slowly made a call to the police. In the meantime she did the work very slowly. The police came and caught the thief. They appeciated Sneha and called up her aunt.
