My Experience in Badminton

It was 12th July 2006. I was to play the finals in Junior girls single district level badminton tournament. My opponent was more experienced than me. Everybody discouraged me saying that my opponent would surely win. But my mother told me not to lose heart and concentrate on the game. And our game started. For every point my opponent gained on me, there was a very big applause from 30 people who had accompanied her. And there were only my parents and one of my friends to cheer for me. But I tried to remain strong and concentrated on the game. As the game advanced there were less and less cheering for her. And at one point there was total silence followed by sudden thunderous standing ovation and I saw everybody clapping for me. I had won the match and I had become the new district level champion in Junior girls category. I was on cloud nine.
