Four large islands and several smaller ones make up the small African country of Comoros situated between the mainland of Africa and the island country of Madagascar.
The total area of the country is about half that of Goa.
It has a population of about 7 lakh. Most of the people are farmers, but there is always a shortage of food and the country has to import rice and other food.
