A square of green tinted paper; a square of brown tinted paper; a cardboard square; scissors; strong glue.
1. Fold the square of brown tinted paper into a narrow cone and stick.
2. Make the broad end of the cone even by snipping off the tip.
3. Cut out a long strip of green tinted paper which is broad at one end and becomes narrower, as shown.
4. Now make thin cuts along one side of this strip of paper, all down its length.
5. Glue the narrow top end of the strip to the pointed, narrow top of the cone.
6. Wind the strip down diagonally, sticking it to the cone as you go. This is your X’mas tree.
7. Glue the base of the completed tree firmly on to a circle cut out of the cardboard square.
You may gift it to your friend during the festive season.
Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
