An empty plastic tube (toothpaste or glue); one extra tube lid; paper for covering the tube; a small piece of cardboard for the fins; strong glue and scissors.
1. Cover the tube with paper.
2. On the piece of cardboard, trace out the figure shown and cut out the two triangular pieces.
3. Place the tube flat. Glue one fin on the underside of the tube and one on the top. Glue the extra lid on the middle of the tube (like a periscope)
4. You can float this submarine in a tub of water for some time like a paper boat!
Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
