Five lengths of thin broomstick (‘narial jhadoo’) of the sizes shown in the picture and strong glue.
1.Place the five sticks in the shape shown in the illustration.
2.Glue them together and let the whole framework dry.
3. Now gently bend the sticks that are jutting out.
4. The top ones will form the neck and head and the two front legs.
5.The sticks at the back will be the two rear legs and the tail.
6.The stick giraffe will balance upright on any flat surface or you can take a flat bar of soap and drive in the legs to make it stand.
Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
