A gift for your sister's doll house
4 empty matchboxes of regular size and 1 large-sized empty matchbox or cardboard carton; black sketch pen; grey-coloured chart paper; aluminium foil; scissors and glue.
1. Place one pair of matchboxes one on top of the other and cover them up neatly with grey chart paper. Do the same with the second pair of matchboxes. These are the stereo speakers. Cover the third larger single box in the same way. This is the main deck of the music system.
2. On each of the stereo speakers, draw two small circles on the top left and right-hand corners respectively with the black sketch pen. Cut out two large circles and two slightly smaller ones from the aluminium foil. Stick them as shown, the larger circle below the smaller one.
3. With the black sketchpen make the markings of a radio and two cassette players on the main 'deck' using the illustration as a guide.
4. Glue the speakers, one on each side of the main deck. Your music system is ready to play!
Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
