Cardboard Candles

THINGS REQUIRED

Two or three cardboard agarbatti tubes or tissue paper roll tubes; coloured or white paper for covering the tubes; tube of Fevicol; a large piece of tin foil or aluminium foil; scissors, glue and paints.

METHOD

1.Cover the tubes with the coloured paper or paint them over. Cut out small rounds to close both open ends.
2. Squeeze the tube of Fevicol over the rim of the tube on top, so that it drips over the side, resembling candle wax.
3. When the Fevicol dries completely, paint it over.
4. Cut out flames from the tin foil and fix each flame by piercing it through the top cover of the candle.
5. You can dab some gold and silver sparkle paint over the ‘candles’ for a festive look!

Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
