I have heard this :- Tagore's word on Beauty: Tagore saw the long slide glances of the female and was reminded of Kalidasa. O! Kalidasa should include these women (of bengal) with side long glances (looking unnoticingly at the other) but if I (Tagore) write now the poem I (tagore) can describe the beauty of the eyes but only thing that is missing now in these females is the lotus in their hand.

When he was a student he hated the school and so he stopped from going to school. He learnt the subject from his father who was also his teacher and he became a great personality with remarkable qualities and also brought pride to the nation.

Rabindranath Tagore built open classrooms because he wanted children also to have freedom. They were allowed to do whatever they wanted to do at a given time.

Sri Rabindranath Tagore refused the tittle of " SIR " given by the British. This shows the greatness of him.

In 1901, Tagore left Shilaidaha and moved to Santiniketan (West Bengal) to found an ashram, which would grow to include a marble-floored prayer hall ("The Mandir"), an experimental school, groves of trees, gardens, and a library.[10] There, Tagore's wife and two of his children died.

Nothing can be described in only one paragraph about such an immortal genius. He is one of the greatest universalists in culture, politics and an inspiration to mankind for ever. He is just as significant as his name stands for.
