The galago is a tree-dwelling African animal that jumps with its long hind legs, quite like a frog. It is known for its ability to leap long distances like 4.5 metres. The largest galago is about the size of a squirrel, while the smallest is hardly 15 cm long. This is excluding the bushy tail which is longer than its body. The galago's tail helps it to balance.
The galago has thin, large, hairless bat-like ears, that it folds while leaping through trees and while resting. It is sometimes called a 'bush baby' as it sleeps all through the day. It is a nocturnal animal with enormous eyes that provide excellent vision at night, when it jumps from tree to tree in search of food.
