I wish I had the longest hair I comb & comb it till midnight My hands turn red My face turn pale My body shivers as a leaf I faint over the heap of hair My parents take me to the barber He shaves off my head Makes my head soft and round as a pot My friends tap on it Make me a laughing stock of the school They put me in a farm To save it from evil eyes I stand there as part of nature. Amruthendu Anirudhan VII-A Bhavan’s Vidyashram Ramanattukara Calicut, Kerala
