My Beautiful Bird

I had a beautiful bird
Whose feathers were so light,
The sweet song which I heard
Was the last from my bird.

That dreadful Sunday night
Was full of sorrow
My beautiful bird was gone forever.

My pillows were wet
With tears of grief,
I sat by my window longing for my bird
Then I heard a cry-the familiar cry of my bird in help.

I ran out and saw to my horror
A large black cat with a bird in its mouth,
I somehow made the cat leave my bird
And ran down to it.

My tears of joy were beyond limits
My bird was there and I was happy,
We were reunited back together
And there ended my grief!!!
