Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad |
|
1888-1958
|
|
Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, a Muslim theologian of international repute, was one of the earliest to join the nationalist movement and to lead it steadfastly, arousing the ire of his communal-
minded co-religionists. He was perhaps the only one among our leaders who was jailed during both World Wars I (1914-1918) and II (!939-45) for campaigning for Swaraj. During the most fateful days of the national struggle, he was the President of the Indian National Congress. Personally unwilling to accept the principle of the two-nation theory, he too, like Gandhiji, reluctantly reconciled himself to India's partition in 1947. He was free India's first Education Minister. |

First of all thanks to managment of this site who give me this opportunity to comment something about this great person and remind them proudly, because of them we are living in free environment.
I know many things about this personality and I have keen intrest to know something new about every freedom fighter.
I am proud that I got this opportunity to talk somthing about him. First thing I want to tell is that Maulana Abdul Kalam Azaad is the name of a person who left his native place and relocate in India from City "Makka." He came here with his father. And later on he stayed here. He was very intelligent. His memory was very sharp, he used to read any book only once and he kept whole information about that article even he knew page numbers of each chapter.
He was an editor of many news papers whose duty was just this much that he used to wake up the people against Britsh Goverment and their products.
He became first Minister of Education after getting freedom.

Certainly your site is informative but at the same time doesn't carry sufficient information. As far as Maulana Azad is concerned he was the only congress leader who never agreed on partition issue at any cost. Everybody else in congress had agreed except Maulana.

Abul Kalam Azad was a perfect man, well skilled to take best from the classical and choose excellect modern. He was modernist but not apologetic. He was anti-imperialist and champion of Hindu Muslim unity. A great experience in the history of Islam.

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was a Maulana every person should know about. He was a complete anit-thesis of any Ulem of Islam we know as a generalisation. Scientific thinking and a very balanced and rational thinker, he was the person who laid the foundations of the good modern Indian Educational system. His contributions towards formation of institutes like ICHR, UGC and IITs is far ahead of his times, as usually all his thoughts were. His auto-biography 'India Wins Freedom' is an eyeopener to the events preceeding the Independence. Also, his Gubaar e Khatir can be bought from the market in its english translated version 'Flight of Spirit' ... !!!
