Man is destroying forests to build dams and cultivate land. Trees are cut recklessly for fuel for manufacturing paper, for building houses, furniture etc. He is killing wild animals for food, for their skin and other purposes. This should be stopped. Instead of destroying forests,we should preserve, protect and increase the area under forests. Forests are our national wealth. They have been helping to maintain ecological balance. The carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is keeping our earth warm. The trees provide man with the necassary wood for construction of houses ,raw materials for industries ,furnitures and medicines. They help in soil preservation, cool the atmosphere and thus bring rain. We must save the planet EARTH.

Dimdima is the Sanskrit word for ‘drumbeat’. In olden days, victory in battle was heralded by the beat of drums or any important news to be conveyed to the people used to be accompanied with drumbeats.
